Just the other day I had a revelation. I was reading an article in which a catholic priest denounced homosexuality as an unnatural act. As I am sure most of you know by now, the priest was wrong. Over a thousand different species of animals on planet earth engage in homosexual actions. Humanities closest genetic cousin, the bonobos, engages in all sorts of sexual antics including homosexuality. These sorts of thoughts were going through my head.

Then something profound occurred to me. The bonobos try everything sexual. The bonobos engage in sexual acts that even the most liberal of us consider amoral and wrong. The bonobos engage in incessant. The bonobos do not wait until puberty. They will do everything else, but the bonobos do not practice celibacy.

Intrigued, I started doing some research. As far as I can determine, there is only one animal on planet earth stupid enough to attempt celibacy. That stupid primate would be humans.

Think about it. All catholic priests engage in abnormal sexual conduct. All of them. In nature, no animals chose to remain celibate. All throughout the natural world, animals seek a healthy outlet for their naturally occurring sexual drive. To attempt to ignore this drive or to replace it with something else is a radical deviation from the accepted norm.

Consider this, too. It is a choice. While there are those out there who are born with a lower than average sex drive, this is the exception and not the rule for those who join the priesthood. They are pursuing an unnatural sexual lifestyle and they are choosing to do in defiance of nature.

What really struck me was how they had convinced me for forty-two years that their celibacy was completely normal and reasonable. Once a reasonable person takes a moment to look around at the natural world around them, he clearly sees how absurd it is to speak of celibacy as anything normal or reasonable at all.

Representative Paul Broun,

I was angered and disappointed and embarrassed by a statement you made on the floor of the House or Representatives. You said the following.

“If ObamaCare passes, that free insurance card that’s in people’s pockets is gonna be as worthless as a Confederate dollar after the War Between The States — the Great War of Yankee Aggression.”

In suggesting that the citizens of Georgia are no longer wishing to be a part of the United States of America, you are doing your constituents a grave disservice. I am not even going to waste my time attempting to explain to you, a doctor who has practiced without a medical license, the importance of medical care. Instead I am going to attempt to enlighten you on what it means to be a true and faithful citizen of the United States of American.

A truly patriotic citizen of the United States of American does not cut and run off to Puerto Rico when the legislation does not go his or her way. A truly patriotic citizen does not shamefully engaged in calling the duly elected representative of the people a dictator or a zombie and other childish names. Finally, a truly patriotic America does not trample gleefully upon the dead solider who fought and died in one of the saddest periods in the history of the United States of America. You, Sir, make me sick.

While you might not wish to be a part of the United States of America, you have taken a sacred oath to represent the citizens of this nation that reside in the great state of Georgia. Please try to do your job with at least a small measure of dignity.

It looks as if everything is coming together and I will be working for Subway’s soon. Because we are still trying to go to FrolicCon, I carefully crafted an e-mail and sent it to the person who will soon be my boss. Basically, I explained how there was this thing that I would like to go do for four days. Please ignore the fact that I am not explaining what I want to do for those four days. If possible, I explained, I would very much like to go; however, I really need this job so if it can’t happen then it can’t happen.

I received a very cool five word answer, “Should not be a problem.”

I don’t want to celebrate too soon, but Sarah and I might be able to make it to FrolicCon.

Mark Driscoll will tell you that avatar is the most demonic and satanic film that he has ever seen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cI5GxM4f50

“It presents a false mediator with a witch. It presents false worship of created things rather than Creator God in absolute antithesis to Romans 1:25, which gives that as the essence of paganism. It has a false incarnation where a man comes in to be among a people group and to assume their identity. It's a false Jesus. We have a false resurrection. We have a false savior. We have a false heaven. The whole thing is new age, satanic, demonic paganism, and people are just stunned by the visuals. Well, the visuals are amazing because Satan wants you to emotionally connect with a lie.”

So, I looked up Romans 1:25. Driscoll, despite his pose to the contrary, strikes me as a fundamentalist who likes to quote the King James translation of the Bible. That is what we will use.

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

I see. This passage is talking about those who embrace a lie instead of the word of God. That sounds like it fits in with what Driscoll is attempting to say, but let’s take a look at this passage in context.

Romans 1:24-27 (King James Version)

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

So, let me get this straight. If humans fail to follow God’s first commandment and instead worships other Gods, then God is going to make them go gay? Is that what this is saying?
Will watching Avatar make you gay?

I just received a text message on my phone from 678-224-4220. I am going to assume it was some lazy or disruptive former employee that I had to terminate.

“Bye Bye Batman. Patience is a virtue. U were gone a long time ago, Grandma. Have fun on job hunt, 50+ skaterboy. U should’ve been more careful- vindictive, hateful, fortongued SOB. Sat, Feb 20 9:45pm.”

I tried to call them back, but a recording informs me that this number has been disconnected. Oh well.

I wrote this in response to someone who was wrongly convinced that Adolf Hitler was an atheist. This person was using the Third Reich as an example of what happens to nations led by Atheists. They did not want to hear about Sweden or Japan.

I had actually invested a considerable amount or research and thought to the issue of Adolf Hitler’s alleged atheism. It is clear he was Roman Catholic. He talks about God and Jesus in his speeches and his writing. Regardless, there is that pesky, urban myth that he was secretly some sort of Atheist.

First off, while the myth is patently absurd, it is pervasive. Right wing pundits like Bill O’Reilly spread this lie with impunity. This makes it very hard to counter.

As Hitler once observed, “--that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.”

—Adolf Hitler , Mein Kampf, vol. I, ch. X

Then it occurred to me that the beliefs of Adolf Hitler were completely irrelevant. While it is true that Hitler was the elected leader of the nation, it was the German population who carried out the final solution. There is not a single shred of evidence to show that the German population was anything but Christian.

According to the website for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, a religious census taken in 1925 revealed that of an overall German population of 65 million, 40 million belonged to the main Protestant (Evangelical Lutheran) church, 21 million to the Roman Catholic church, and 620,000 to various smaller, mostly Protestant denominations.

Let me repeat this. It does not matter what faith Adolf Hitler followed or did not follow. What matters is that the German people were Christian. These were the people running the trains, operating the gas chambers and manning the incinerators. For this reason, the crime of the Holocaust falls squarely upon Christianity.

I watched the following video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w96UR79TBw

I don’t agree with either the politics or the religious views held by the protestors; nevertheless, I find it commendable that the protest was peaceful. Neither people nor property was damaged in this protest.

It was clearly planned as an effective form of peaceful protest. The speaker was interrupted nine times. All nine could have stood up at once, but that would not have been as effectively disruptive. None of the speakers that I could clearly hear said anything threatening. I think all of them shouted out accusations of crimes and offenses allegedly perpetrated by Israel. Every time the ambassador was interrupted, the person who spoke out of turn was peacefully escorted out of the room and apparently arrested. This is straight out of either Dr. Martin Luther King’s or Gandhi’s playbook of peaceful protests.

I am willing to acknowledge it was very disruptive. It was downright rude. Nevertheless, all effective forms of protest are disruptive. That is why picket lines cross in front of the entrances of buildings. That is why inane chants are shouted over and over and over. That is why tea is dumped in harbors. That is why offensive atheist signs are affixed to public buses. A protest is supposed to be disruptive.

They could have gone outside and joined the protest, but that would not have been as effective. We certainly would not be writing about it now.

Some will doubtless feel concerned about the Michael Oren’s ability to freely speak. I don’t. First off, those who interrupted were removed and possibly arrested. That is reasonable and just. Once the protestors had finished interrupting and had been ejected, he was free to speak. In fact, as an ambassador he can hold a press conference at any time he wishes and the press will show up and spread his message.
